Position - Data Center Technician

Job Description:-

As a Data Center Technician, you will work primarily in an Enterprise sized Data Center of 20k square feet, and several smaller rooms. This individual should be a skilled, hands-on professional with the ability to install and remove equipment using sound methods and procedures, with experience in providing redundant connections using data center structured cabling. This person provides a variety of services to resolve and troubleshoot a wide range of datacenter infrastructure issues including, but not limited to hardware, fiber, networking, and related problems to keep computer servers, storage and networks operating smoothly.


Responsibilities


Work activities include (and certainly not limited to) the following:

• Install and remove hardware into racks efficiently and neatly.
• Collaborate with other technology teams to determine network and storage connections.
• Enters Service Requests for network/storage/telecom connections.
• Enter documentation in work orders.
• Add new equipment in the Data Center Inventory system (dc Track)
• Edit records in the Data Center Inventory system as needed.
• Watch for Incident, Requests and Changes in the ITSM system (Service Now).
• Work on Incident, Change, and Service Request tickets as needed.
• Perform the initial configure of Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
• Add and remove records in the Power IQ application.
• Provide assistance and act as a technical consultant to Data Center users.
• Attend project meetings and meet or exceed project deadlines.
• Work with the team to maintain the neatness of all Data Centers
• Arrange delivery of equipment to other sites
• Be on-call as scheduled.
• Other duties as assigned.

Other qualifications

• Must be able to lift 100 pounds.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook
