GENERAL SUMMARYThe CHKD Office RN - Internal Traveler Program (Office RN-ITP) provides short-term 13-week assignments for eligible candidates to fill staffing needs. Office RNs will be eligible for up to 3 renewable 13-week assignments into pediatric practices across the CHKDHS. The Office RN - Internal Traveler performs a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services to support the medical practice. Reports to Practice Manager/Supervisor and works in close cooperation with and under the clinical guidance of the practice physician(s). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDemonstrates excellence in nursing practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient and staff education. Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care.Performs other duties as assigned.LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONSRequired Licenses and/or CertificationsCurrent Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license is required at time of hire. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Training required at the time of hire or obtained within 45 days of hire. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSRequired Education and Experience Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing.At least 1 years of nursing experience required.Preferred Education and Experience Pediatric experience preferred. Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesProfessional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through the completion of an accredited School of Nursing is required. WORKING CONDITIONSNormal patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
