Summary
Americas Risk Management unit is responsible for monitoring and evaluating risks across a number of categories within Mizuho U.S Operations, keeping them contained within management's appetite by implementing policies and procedures to minimize losses and improve efficiency. Mizuho seeks a highly motivated individual to join our team as a VP/Director, Risk Platform Management, reporting to the Head of Risk Platform Management and working within the Portfolio Risk team.
Responsibilities
- Establish risk data integrity processes across financial risk stripes (market, liquidity, credit) that ensure front-to-back data completeness across all data integrity pillars via a rules-based approach that can be replicable on a consistent basis (daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly).
- Review the existing suite of FRTB data integrity checks and develop a roadmap that integrates the existing process with market risk data completeness efforts.
- Work with credit and liquidity risk stakeholders to identify data integrity gaps and develop risk data integrity processes to ensure completeness.
- Design and develop PowerBI dashboards to standardize and streamline data completeness checks, generate periodic risk data submissions to internal and external stakeholders, and retain data repositories for MIS reporting.
- Contribute towards risk data governance initiatives, working with other corporate functions. Review existing risk data integrity handbooks and develop additional documentation as new processes are launched.
Qualifications
- 6-10 years of business analyst experience working within the Risk or Risk IT function at an institutional bank
- Proven ability to think strategically and express actionable curiosity; more specifically, can analyze complex problems and design effective and elegant solutions
- Exceptional SQL, Python, and PowerBI skills; clear understanding of SQL database schemas and query logic; proven ability to create dashboard views in PowerBI
- Strong communication skills, with experience working cross-functionally
The expected base salary ranges from $127,500 - $235,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
